The overhead bulb in my kitchen has been flickering for awhile. I have pampered it by not using it except in cases of absolute necessity. It is the only light in my kitchen–the old overhead type fixture in a round glass ball.
My neighbor came over today to change the bulb (which he can do without having to stand on anything) and surprise! it is the fixture, not the bulb. Ta/Da! This necessitated a call to my landlord, who will call an electrician, who will probably have to put in a new fixture. I don’t know if electricians are busier around the Christmas season or not, and how long I will have to wait to get the repair.
All I do know is that it is just really dark by 4 in the afternoon here in New Jersey, and I need this like a hole in the head right now.
It just seems lately that every little thing expands into a song and dance and my coping skills are not at their best.
Fortunately, I’m making chili for supper and that is good for two nights.
I will keep you posted.

Darn! Hopefully, the electrician can come soon. It shouldn’t be a very big job.
From your mouth to God’s ears.
We had to replace our kitchen light fixture – a large, two fluorescent bulb fixture. My brother was able to do it, though it was difficult to find a modern fixture of a similar size to fill the same space. Even so, he spent more time drilling holes to put the wires through the housing, and they were in different places from where they were coming through the ceiling, than actually installing the fixture. With what you describe, switching for a new one should be very easy!
I pray that you are right. I just can’t deal with too many hassles right now!
Keep a positive outlook.
I am really trying to.
It’s not always easy to do.
Today is particularly trying.
Really dark by 4:00 pm? Here in Arkansas, it is 5:30 pm – and I have been complaining how early it gets dark here.
Well, you know how the government is in New Jersey. 🙂
Ha Ha
I like the summer for the long days.
