We had a little snow today, mixed with rain, but not much. Still, it was gray and overcast all day.
I had to go to the liquor store today as I was running out of wine and I don’t want to go there on Christmas Eve–or worse yet New Years Eve.
I found out just how unfit I have become. I could not find what I wanted and my back began to bother me because I was standing for such a long time reading various labels. That’s from too much sitting. I must have read a hundred labels of different wines, could not find what I wanted, and ended up settling for one I hope is close to what I usually get.
Still no kitchen light.
It is supposed to be sunny and quite a bit warmer tomorrow–so I will attempt to squeeze in a walk.
I can’t believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve.
God bless everybody.
Patty
I went to our neighborhood liquor store today and it was like a Walmart Supercenter, a continuous flow of people in and out. We are to have record breaking heat for this time of year. It reminds me of Christmas in southern California, nice and warm. I will be out of town for most of the year so “Merry Christmas!” to all.
Merry Christmas to you as well and be safe on the roads.
Walmart is like crossing No Man’s Land, right about now. I made my last “Wally World” trip of the year last Monday, strategically planned so that I would arrive before sunup. Amazingly, and quite disappointingly, they didn’t have my favored breakfast sausage with Hatch Green Chilies, so I may suffer the indignity of regular breakfast sausage for a week or two. 🙂
But, this time of year, I plan my shopping like it was D-Day. Arrive the second they unlock the doors, know exactly what I am getting, and get the H outta there before the huddled masses arrive. 🙂 It’s actually humorous, because at the supermarket, the same person checks me out, pretty much every time. The savvy “Breakfast Club” shoppers who get there early are a disorganized social order, all its own. 🙂
Thank heaven for grocery deliveries. I rely on them quite a bit. But not everything.
As much of a gauntlet as grocery shopping has become, I still like doing it. During the lockdown, there were long periods of time when the only person I interacted with, face to face was the cashier at a nearby supermarket, and I was grateful for that interaction.
Yes, that was a pain. We were doing regular in-person shopping then and it was good to interact with the clerks we had known for years.
Patty – I really enjoy your posts, especially with dogs! I hope the wine you brought home is an enjoyable one for you.
Merry Christmas!!! And God bless!!!!
Dotty
Thanks, Dotty. I’ll let you know when I try it. Glad you like the posts. Have a Merry Christmas and God bless you too. Patty
That walk will help. What I’ve found is that the routine helps, greatly. Even if it’s a short walk, try to do it at the same time, daily.
That’s what I want to attempt.
Make an event out of it, even if it’s just a very short walk.
