  1. Holy smokes! That is unfathomable; how could someone not instrument rated be so stupid as to take off into a 1,000’ ceiling? I sincerely hope that pilot lost his certificate, permanently. He came very close to committing suicide and taking everyone onboard with him.

    The fellow speaking did all the right things, and yes, I can see much broader implications to this example. Either way, my hackles are up, just hearing about this. To call the pilot’s actions stupid is to insult stupidity.
