Today I took it really easy and did not post as much as usual.
Part of that was because I had to take time to reconcile an issue.
Ordered from Whole Foods (who are very good with their deliveries). Today, however, there was a problem.
It is extremely hot here today and extremely humid. I looked out of my window earlier and there were my three grocery bags sitting out on the sidewalk in the 90 plus degree heat with the sun beating down on them. When I brought them in, they were actually hot . On my delivery instructions, I specify that the bags be brought into the foyer. I got really upset, because the food was much too hot, the frozen stuff was hot–in general a real mess. Whole Foods did straighten it out, though and replaced my order. It was a bit of a distraction, however.
I was worried that this would be a difficult day. It is our 49th wedding anniversary today. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I thought of our wedding day at the little wedding chapel in Elkton, Maryland and the memories were so good. After we were married, we went fishing on Chesapeake Bay. One of the very best days of my life. For the first few years after our marriage we would go back and visit Elkton every year. One year we went to the Aberdeen proving ground. There’s a picture around here somewhere of me sitting on a really big tank. Great times.
I will close for now, watch some ER and make my supper.
