This man got truly fed up with customers being rude to his employees (who are kids). He’s gotten a lot of support. There is far too much rudeness today.
Good for these guys who own an ice cream shop! I hope that more MEN start to STEP UP and call out wrong behavior in other ADULTS in our country – it’s OVERDUE!!!
This makes me think about all those people I see on FB (they probable are on other social media I don’t use, too) that make a big deal about self check out. The “If staff suggest I use it, I tell them I don’t work here” or “they’re not paying me to do their job” and so on. I’ve worked as a cashier – a job I actually enjoyed – but when I see people getting to worked up over self check out, I find myself thinking that they are probably the rude customers that treat cashiers like crap – and a big reason why it’s so hard to fill cashier positions in the first place. They have to put up with this sort of abuse, so often!
For a short while, I worked as a cashier, in a convenience store, and definitely was on the receiving end of some rudeness. Convenience stores, at that time, were almost like working in a bar (beer to be consumed off premises was one of our biggest sellers) and sometimes I felt like a bouncer. I was in my prime, and fit enough that no one got physical, but there were a coupe of times when I wondered where things would end up.
I actually prefer self check out, most of the time. It’s hardly a burden. That having been said, there are cashiers at the nearest supermarket I’ve gotten to know by name, and it’s pleasant to deal with someone I’m familiar with.

You are absolutely right!
Harsh words to a teen just starting out in life can have a lingering effect. Good for the owner.
