I know that iguanas can (but don’t have to!) grow up to be these big surly lizards that don’t like anybody, including you. But if you get one as a baby and treat it as a treasured pet, my experience is that as the iguana grows, he’ll grow increasingly friendly with humans, dogs, and cats. I think they come to believe they’re mammals.
You wouldn’t believe all the women who made salads for my iguana. He was very popular.
