State senator! Public policy maker! Drunk.
So… She’s a state senator in Colorado–Democrat, of course–committee chairwoman… sort of an important person. Having agreed to participate in a public hearing on a scheme to open up a halfway house for sex offenders, in the same neighborhood as a grade school, she shows up late, dressed like a ragamuffin, forgets she’s there to be on the panel, not to sit in the audience…
And she’s drunk (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13274125/Democrat-Colorado-state-senator-Faith-Winter-treatment-drunk-meeting.html). Blotto. Crocked.
She has resigned her committee chair and says she’s going into therapy for alcohol abuse. Her cohorts in the senate expect her back soon. Or so they say. Translation: “when the heat dies down.”
Really, we have to be a bit more choosy about whom we elect to represent us in public business. No country ever suffered a disaster for which its leaders were not to blame.
Is America in good hands?
Sure doesn’t look that way.
