Jaroc, you asked for this hymn, and I’m only too glad to post it here.

Be Thou My Vision is an ancient Irish hymn, and one of my all-time favorites. It deeply moves me every time I hear it.

I was kind of stuck for what to write about today. Scanning the news each morning can sometimes be a soul-deadening experience. I mean, really–Campus Sex Week? Have we really sunk to this?

But again, good advice for Christians:

Sing louder!

Our God is the God, an awesome God; and He hears us.

While I try to decide what to write about today, let this ancient Irish hymn (it goes back over a thousand years) hold my place. It’s one of my favorite hymns, and I hope the video works. I won’t know until I’ve posted it.

Sometimes it’s best just to “be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

We need His protection in this evil age.
