UK in Turmoil, Threatens Crackdown on Social Media

BRITAIN-CRIME-RIOT

The new look in British politics

They’ve been having riots and demonstrations all over the UK for the past week–mostly over Britain’s out-of-control immigration situation–and the new Labour government (that’s British for “Far Left Crazy”) has threatened to crack down on Internet users it deems guilty of “misinformation.” A man has been arrested this week for an “inaccurate social media post” (https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2024/08/09/overcorrection-underway-uk-goes-to-war-with-the-internet-after-social-unrest-it-blames-on-social-media/).

They’ve got a catchy little slogan now: “Think before you post.” Big Brother will be watching.

Even catchier was a remark by a Labour politician–at a “peace rally,” no less: he called for his party’s political rivals to be… well, killed. He has since been suspended.

“This is not a law-free zone,” the prime minister warns Internet users. He blames the riots on the social media. People couldn’t be, they just couldn’t be, reacting violently to failed immigration policies that have led to an increase in violent crime.

Misinformation is bad; but misgovernment is so much worse.
