A Pedophile, but not a Monster?

There is an extraordinary article out there on Salon.com by a self-confessed pedophile ( http://www.salon.com/2015/09/21/im_a_pedophile_but_not_a_monster/ ). I have just read it.

Presuming that everything he says in the article is true–and I’ve been given as yet no reason to doubt it–then what we have here is a suffering soul who has not, in fact, done anything wrong. He suffers from the temptation to commit a terrible sin. He has not given in to it. (Again, I’m assuming he has told the truth.) We have all been tempted to a wide assortment of sins. Even Our Lord Jesus Christ suffered temptation (Hebrews 2:18). There is no reason to deny this man our sympathy and fellowship.

Nevertheless…

You see, we have been here before. It always starts with a sob story–the back-alley abortion with the coat hanger, the poor inoffensive homosexual who just wants to live his life without being persecuted. And the next thing you know, we’ve got 50 million aborted babies, with Planned Parenthood “harvesting” their organs while they’re still alive, and organized sodomy with its pals in government crushing and destroying anyone who doesn’t bow down and “celebrate” the moral supremacy of homosexuality.

We’ve been here before, and shame on us if we allow ourselves to be brought here again.

  1. Amen, Lee! I didn’t read the article, but liberals want us to accept them for who they are, instead of trying to get them the help they need. I do sympathize with someone who struggles, but it shouldn’t become the new norm just to make them feel good.

    1. Meanwhile, I’d love to ask this guy, “If we were to remove the extreme social, moral, and legal disapproval of pedophilia, what do you suppose would happen in our society?”

    2. I agree. The damaged caused to child victims is not because of the “taboo” and it won’t stop damaging children if the disapproval is removed. Even children too young to know it is wrong, are severely damaged by molestation.

  2. I saw this not long ago through another source, although I can’t recall where. I have mixed feelings about it. Hopefully, this guy is being truthful. God knows. Children these days have a rather bleak future in many respects. It certainly is a far, far cry from the childhood we had. Come, Lord Jesus!

  3. As long as this person restrains himself and doesn’t act on these feelings, then I have no choice but to wish him well. There is a line between temptation and acting upon temptation. Assuming that he is sincere, all I can do is wish him the best. If he acts on this, even once, he has crossed a boundary and has become a menace to society.

  4. I was just talking about something like this the other day. The media always comes up with a poster child for some kind of depravity or other.

    1. Maybe if his temptations involved anything other than children, I would wish him well. But alas, I wish him @#%^&*()_

  5. Pedophilia is the next “glass ceiling” the Leftids want to break. In the Supreme Court case about child pornography being protected free speech, the two dissenting votes were by Ruth Bader Ginsburg and David Souter. Leftids want the age of consent for sexual intercourse lowered to 12 (like many places in Mexico today). We are in a spiritual battle and it is our mission to bring every thought into captivity to Christ.
