Hymn, ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen’

By reader request, here is God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. I picked this version of the 18th century hymn because I like the sound of it, I like the snowscape, and I like the easy-to-follow printed lyrics, which show how closely this Christmas carol is based on Luke Chapter 2.

I will continue to post hymns and Christmas carols by request, so don’t be bashful–let me know if there’s one you’d like to have posted here.

  1. Very nice. If anyone has requested “O Holy Night”, I’d like to add my vote. If not, I’d like to request it. And, of course, “Silent Night”.

    1. I’ll post “O Holy Night” tomorrow, Linda (don’t want to use them all up before Christmas). I’ll post hymns anytime–God knows we need them!

    2. Thank you. You do always seem to find beautiful versions of the hymns you post. I look forward to them. God Bless and have a restful night.
