Video Treat: Squirrel Plays with Cat

This is just too cool! I stumbled over it just now and felt I had to share it. Have you ever seen anything like it? I don’t think these two were raised together, either. How they ever got started on this, beats me. But it’s fun to watch!

  1. The local stray cats won’t run from the raccoons who sneak on the porch to get at the cat food. Now I wait until the cats show up before putting food out.
I thought it was a Rocky Raccoon but the other day there was a baby raccoon! She is a Rockette. One stray is looking better with a shiny coat and putting on some weight. Another just wants to be petted but will eat when no one is looking. My cat is a handful or would take them all in.

    1. Avoid the temptation! Next thing you know, you’ve got 30 or 40 cats. I know someone like that: she just can’t not help a cat who’s in trouble or homeless. Then again, it’s one of the things I like about her.

  2. Wow, that is amazing. Mostly, the cats I have seen only wanted to make
a lunch of any squirrel they could catch. This is really cute.

  3. This is so adorable! Thanks, Lee 🙂

And as to rescuing cats, Susan and I share that ‘affliction’. I’ve been rescuing cats (and some dogs, birds, turtles, etc) my whole life, and have had upwards of 30 cats as a result – some of them born at home after I took in soon-to-be mamas. I’ve had many sick and disabled cats in my colonies over the years and have been blessed with vets who take pity on me regarding their fees. I’ve never been sorry – every one has been a blessing!
