The picture of the frog is only here because it’s interesting. What do you suppose he’s thinking?
Just in case you missed the announcement a couple of weeks ago, we are in the throes of an epochal comment contest, racing along toward the landmark of 40,000 comments. We currently have 38,827, which means we have 1,173 to go. The reader who posts Comment No. 40,000 will win an autographed copy of my new book, The Temptation, No. 11 in my Bell Mountain series. It hasn’t been released for publication yet, but that could happen very soon.
All readers are eligible, even those who’ve already one a comment contest or two, and all comments are eligible, with the following exceptions: Comments that insult or abuse any other commenter; commercials thinly disguised as comments–like, you really think you’re gonna fool us with that?–any use of the f-bomb or any other profanity or blasphemy, and comments simply too inane to bother with. You may wonder just what would be too inane for me to publish as a comment. Well, trust me–they’re out there.
We’ve been clipping along at a pace of about 50 comments a day since Christmas, but today… well, not so hot.
Considering some of my own inanities, I can’t help wondering what inanities would be too inane for publication. And no, I’m not going to suggest an inanity contest! 🙂 Although maybe Violet Crepuscular or Joe Collidge might be interested….
I think we already have an inanity contest. It’s called “college.”
12?? I thought there were only (only? – ha)10! Got to catch up. But been so busy with problems: a democratic dog ate my vote; my ‘wealth’ has been redistributed to the bank; I used the wrong pronoun and am afraid to return home; I walked miles looking for another white person and almost got arrested for wearing my MAGA hat; I hid my guns and now can’t find them; I had to hack into a data base to find out what my medical problems were; i’ve never had a flu shot and have to wear a face mask so they don’t blame ME… Oy, what a life!
You’re right, sort of–Nos. 11 and 12 haven’t been published yet. And I’ve lost track and made a dumb mistake that I must correct right now!
Even your “mistakes” aren’t dumb. Dumb is not knowing you made one.
It would have taken me a while longer to notice that, if you hadn’t commented. That’s what enabled me to fix the promble–so thank you!
Marlene, I lost count of my books and have had to edit the post accordingly. There are 12, but No. 11 (The Temptation) has not yet been released (coming soon) and No. 12 (His Mercy Endureth Forever) is in the early stages of editing.
I made a mess of that post. Management regrets the error.
Not to worry, Lee. If this is the worst you ever do, you are “flyin’ high”! We all enjoy your great posts, every type. (that is when they reach us.) If my emails could come in to the correct segment, I could catch a lot more.
I just returned from church, so I’m late getting on. Also, we had a brief power outage due to extreme winds, but …sigh… should go ok now.
By the way, that frog in the picture looks pretty bored.
You could be right Marlene. My take on it…….he looks like he is annoyed and ready to speak his mind. Maybe at the Liberal Democrats?? Hmmmmmm……what might he say?? I can think of a few choice things! LOL I guess we’ll just have to keep on guessing 😁
Sorry! I meant Erlene!
And here I thought he was thinking, “Heh heh heh, just wait, just wait…”
I’m looking forward to knowing who’s going to be the next winner! 🏆✨
Me either Joshua. It’s pretty scary!
It sure is, Lyn! It’s kind of like a race. I really like Mr. Duigon’s contests!
Thanks for the comment context update; I’m so behind reading WordPress blogs including yours!
