Conversations with Cats

My cat Henry used to dispute my rights to the little baserunner pieces in my Strat-O-Matic Baseball game. He thought they ought to be his little plastic things, to do with as he pleased. So he would sit beside the game, as I was playing it, and chatter at me non-stop. If I had to get up for any reason, he would make his move the the little pieces wound up on the floor, where he could chase them. Eventually I persuaded him not to do that anymore; but that didn’t stop him from making lengthy orations on the subject.

  1. Funny- some cats are talkative, some hardly ever say a word. One of my Siamese got attacked by a neighbor’s dog, and he came in and jumped on my lap saying mama, mama, and some other things I could not understand, but he made it clear that he was very upset.

  2. I love cat sounds. I had a lovely cat that would talk to me at length and would squeak excitedly as she ran to answer if I called he to come. Siamese cats have another aspect to their voice besides other species and can be even more expressive. I bought my siamese because of the breed’s reputation for loquaciousness.

    1. Robbie’s always yapping about something, and Peep yowls if we go upstairs, or go downstairs, before she’s ready for us to do that.
