My Uncle Bernie used to play this in his car–Shall We Gather at the River, by Tennessee Ernie Ford. It was written in 1864 by Robert Lowry. Another one of those wonderful 19th century hymns.

This brought back memories. My grandfather toured as a pianist with Tennessee ErnieFord in the early 50’s. Thank you for this reminder.
Wow, that’s cool. Any other hymns by Tennessee Ernie that you’d like to hear?
Any you feel you want to share. Thank you for this great song.
Great old song that churches used to sing.
Wonderful. Ernie Ford ended his show with a hymn. This is forbidden today. 🙁
TY for the hymn
