Hard realities–they bite
Why is it so hard for so many people to understand that the government has no money of its own–only what it can squeeze out of us in taxes?
The older I get, the more I see social engineering as a satanic enterprise, just can’t ignore the smell of brimstone anymore.
But hey, let’s all do business without making a profit and see how long we can keep that up…
It’s magic, don’t ya know? Fits right in with climate control.
A couple of other things about raising the minimum wage to ridiculous heights:
1. Other employees with more seniority and more responsible (or harder) jobs will also want raises to stay ahead of the low-skilled (or unskilled) newcomers; and
2. Even assuming the company owner doesn’t go bankrupt or do massive layoffs in order to make a living, once raises go up a certain amount, prices also go up, thereby nullifying the raises and sometimes leaving even those employees who still have jobs worse off financially than before.
As a side note…. Hey, no fair! Enable the comments for the “Talking Witch” post! I have a few more things for the witch to say. But oh well, at this point what difference does it make? 🙂

When the Pilgrims landed they set up a socialist system and a bunch of them died of starvation that winter. The next year they set up a capitalistic system and no one starved that winter. Karl Barth, Paul Tillich and their ilk preached socialism as Biblical, when the Bible teaches no such thing.
