Hooray! We’ve got a Latin motto for Quokka University! Every college needs one. We can put it over the door of every dorm and every lecture hall. And on sweatshirts, too.
G’day! Byron the Quokka here; and you’re here, too, every step of the way, as we create a brand-new modern university.
I never expected to get our Latin motto so soon. A quokka named Ernest suddenly came up with the idea last night while he was watching Get Smart re-runs, and he ran outside and yelled and yelled until the rest of us came out to see what all the fuss was about.
So here it is: the official Latin motto for Quokka U.
Ipso loquitur Mannimota!
Now, I can hear some of you asking, “But what does that mean?” Well, who cares! It’s a Latin motto, and every college has one. I don’t know what it means. Nobody here knows what it means. It’s just a cool motto, and you can’t have a university without one.
Next: Should we have an American football team, or stick to pick-up sticks?
I vote for the pick up sticks. Couldn’t be as boring as football, and players much less likely to get injured.
WOW
Oh, what a cool motto!! Three cheers for Ernest!!!
Mannimota has me beat.
I think it’s Latin for Manny Mota, whom the Giants never should’ve traded to the Pirates.
Makes perfect sense, now.
The pick-up sticks. These should mean you do not get hurt. good job Earnest.
The thing speaks for itself, huh Mannimota? I am very interested in taking some online courses from Quokka U – any development taking place in that direction?
No one’s thought of any courses yet. It’s a lot of work, setting up a university.
