Requested by Joshua: by the magic of a capella looping, David Wesley sings The King Is Born Tonight.
Personal note: a blast from the past! This tune was first sung in 1939–in the Zulu language–and became a hit when it was translated into English as “The Lion Sleeps Tonight (Whimoway).” I haven’t heard it since I was a schoolboy. Lovely music, put to a new and lovely use! And now the tune’s going to be in my head all day.
Wow. Just wow. Thank you, Lee, and thank you, Joshua.
Wow indeed! “Wait a minute–I know that tune!” I’m so glad to hear it used to celebrate Christmas.
Very interesting, and quite lovely. I did recall the tune, but never heard this before.
I really enjoy this one. Christmas celebrations are a great power for the good when done in true faith of the incarnation.
Thank you, Mr. Duigon!
Love it
