Wow! A pair of real celebrities who write and sing hymns?
Something told me, just now, to post this. When I was a little boy, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans were mega-stars: they made movies, had a TV show, and appeared on lunch boxes all over the country.
Dale Evans herself wrote The Bible Tells Me So. It’s message isn’t complicated. But it’s well worth hearing.
[Anybody out there remember the name of Dale’s horse, on the TV show?]
I didn’t know she wrote that. I think her horse was Buttermilk or Buttercup.
It was Buttermilk.
I thought it was Trigger, but I guess that was Dale’s horse’s name.
Trigger was Roy’s horse.
I knew the name of Roy’s horse, but didn’t know the name of Dale Evans’. Nice song. But they lived in a totally different time and culture from our day. And yet, I was born during the time they were young, but so much has changed (and not for the better). It seems they were from a time long ago and far away, ages past, far removed from our present day.
