‘They’re Not Just Idiots…’ (2016)

ANGRY ATHEISTS” WAR ON CHRISTMAS – Catholic League

Name the jidrool–and win a tin foil hat!

I wish I had a dime for every time I heard some jidrool invoke “separation of church and state” as a reason for the state to stomp on Christians. I’d buy an ice cream truck.

They’re Not Just Idiots…

Honestly–why do these people go to Christian websites and complain about “religious content”? Uh… because they get away with it? Because PBS will give you a lollipop if you do? “Yahoo! ‘Comments removed’!” I guess they didn’t have a drag queen story hour to go to at the moment.

We don’t censor even our enemies who crave the power to censor us right into a forced labor camp. We believe their side can’t stand up to truth. Go ahead, try to prove me wrong.

  1. Separation of church and state is, at best, a poor way of expressing what is contained in the constitution. There can be no state religion. Check! I’m 100% onboard, but that doesn’t mean that the public sphere must avoid religious beliefs as if they were a pathogen. We have freedom of religion. That means that I have the right to participate, or not participate as I see fit. If they put a Christmas Tree up in City Hall, I’m not forced to participate in any celebration involving it. The same would be true for Hanukkah, Islamic observations, or celebrations involving any other religion. I’ve dealt with this in the workplace, and I don’t seek to interfere with the practices of others, whose beliefs are far different from my own.

The problem would be if the state compelled participation. Even if the state compelled me to observe communion, I would be outraged, because that it not their sphere. But to pretend that religion doesn’t exist in the name of separation of Church and State is ludicrous.

  2. The people at Liberty Daily website have been censored by YouTube. Even their comments on YouTube videos. They demonstrated how they can post a comment such as “great video” and it shows up in the comment section. But 20 seconds later when you refresh the page their comment has disappeared!
