(Never mind the elephant; they’re just friends.)
What to do, what to do? We have just under 200 comments left to get to 100,000–certainly a milestone that deserves to be celebrated.
But it’s also getting close to the time for opening our annual Christmas Carol Contest; and if I try to manage them both at once, they’ll find me gibbering under the bed.
How about it? Wouldn’t you like to be compared to Baluchitherium, the largest land mammal ever to walk the earth? Just post Comment No. 100,000 and you’ll be promoted instantly to the rank of Baluchitherium. You’ll also win a prize–either an autographed book, or this cool T-shirt that says “If they have to kill us, they’ve lost.”
So… I think I have to open the carol contest either on Thanksgiving Day or the day after. That doesn’t leave much time to wrap up the comment contest. But we shall see…
(No, I am not going to pretend to be a mob of new readers all posting comments. We don’t do that sort of thing around here.)
Seems like everything is so difficult now. We had to sign up with a different internet
service since the expensive one was failing big time. The new one just got connected,
and both of us are tryiing to catch up with everything. I’ll do the best I can, but can’t
promise anything much. My health condition is still a big handicap too.
You’re still here, though–and I rejoice in that.
Thank you and I also rejoice in being with you all.
I just thought of a great song for tomorrow: I Surrender All by Carroll Roberson
Now I have two hymn requests for tomorrow–I’ll be happy to post it.
If I win the comment contest, may I have the elephant as a prize? (Or a miniature stuffed replica of same, since I don’t think my landlord would appreciate having an elephant on the premises.)
I think I might be able to snag some form of an elephant for you. A Baluchitherium… well, that’s harder.
I left a comment on your other email.
Do I have another email?
Never mind, I found it.
It’s 11 p.m. out here, and I’m getting very sleepy.
