A Lesson from a Dog to a Puppy

The puppy is afraid to tackle the stairs–so the grownup dog shows her how it’s done: actually teaches her.

Why do I post a pet video each day? Because our dogs and cats and all the rest are gifts of God… and we shouldn’t ever forget it.

  1. That’s heartwarming. Try to explain that adult dog’s behavior without the influence of a Creator. He really wanted to help, and he understood that the puppy needed to be shown that it’s possible to overcome.

I love the pet videos. Animals are truly a gift. Our civilization depends upon animals, to this day.

    1. You can’t tell me animals have no personality. They’re just a different kind of personality. I speak as someone who had an iguana who was convinced he was a mammal.

    2. Every life is precious. Our Maker gave us personalities, which define us. They are, in industrial terms, like a unique serial number. There will never be another individual with my personality, nor another with your personality.

The same seems to hold true every animal I’ve had as a pet. As I write this, my cat is doing things unique to her behavior. She’s a very sweet natured animal, but she also loves to jerk my chain, just to let me know who is really in charge. She also loves to pretend that she’s afraid of me, running from me and hiding, until I find her, and then she licks my hand.

Every other animal I’ve ever had as a pet has displayed individual traits which are unique to them. One other aspect is that those animals seemed to each have had their own individual bond with me. The cat that I lost, roughly six years ago, had been dumped near my former workplace. I took her in as a pet, and she never forgot it. This was the most grateful animal, I had ever seen.

The cat I have now came from a breeder, literally from her mother, directly to me. There was a cross country drive back to my home, and her bond with me is different; I think that she sees me in the same caregiving role as her mother had fulfilled. She is very affectionate, but she also has a strong sense of possessions. She know that the cat toys belong to her, and she made a bed for herself from discarded materials she found, and that belongs to her. If I touch it, she is right there, watching my every move.

      Yes, they have personalities.

    3. Bold mice, timid mice, icy mice, nice mice, peaceful mice, not-so-peaceful mice… If you ever want to see personalities on parade, get a bunch of mice and interact with them every day.
