They wanna be like China!
According to a Canadian journalist writing for Newsweek, that’s exactly what he’s doing–trying to crush free speech. We are warned not to let this happen in America.

Here in the U.S.A., freedom of speech is enshrined in the Constitution as the law of the land and even Democrats have to at least pretend, however unconvincingly, that they support it. But Canadians don’t have that defense.
So the Trudeau government is pushing Bill C-11, “the Online Streaming Act,” to make sure none of the dozens of protected, favored groups ever have to see or hear anything online that might displease them. The regime has already rejected an amendment “to protect what individual citizens say on social media from government oversight and regulation.”
That loud slurping noise you hear in the background is U.S. Democrats licking their lips at the very thought of wielding so much censorship.
I don’t know how the Canadian government works anymore. What does Trudy have to do to get kicked out on his kiester?
He gets away with it, because the Liberals formed a coalition government with the NDP. And his tyranny is supported by our law enforcement.

In Canada, our Charter of Rights and Freedoms, says:
2. Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms:
b. freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication.
You’d think that would be straightforward, but there is a loophole in the preamble, where is says this freedom in subject to “reasonable limits.” The problem is, what are “reasonable limits”? We’re not just talking about not being able to yell “fire” in a crowded theatre, when there is no fire. As with this new bill not clearly defining what “hate speech” is, we don’t have a clear definition of what “reasonable limits” are.
Then there is the “Notwithstanding Clause”, which allows provincial governments to override any freedom they want – as long as they publicly announce what they are doing!
Ah, “reasonable limits”–as defined by completely unreasonable people!
What is ‘reasonable” about this? What a disgrace. I have a dear friend living there. I wonder how she feels about this.
YES!!!
