If one wolf howls, all the other wolves who hear it will howl, too. If you listen to this video carefully, you’ll hear wolves howling some distance away. But gee, guys–would it put you out so much, just to stand up when you howl?

That is the first time I ever saw any animal howl while lying down. Are they getting as lazy
as people now?
My cat wishes to lodge a complaint with the management of this blog. She found this video unsettling. 🙂
Looks like they were having fun. Isn’t it something that even wild animals can have fun?
There’s a house I ride past on my bike where a large dog, of unspecified breed, howls at me when I ride past, with his tail wagging, a mile a minute. I always make a point to talk to it and to tell it what an impressive dog it is. I think it’s just a way of saying hello, and maybe it adds interest to a dog’s day. Mode of God’s stuff.
There’s more to an animal’s mind and spirit than we know.
I agree. They are not made in God’s image, as humans are, but they are very intelligent, very intuitive, and most animals are good natured.
In the law of ancient Israel, animal sacrifices were used to atone for sin. Was it merely the price of the animal, or was it the value of a living, breathing creature? This wasn’t a meaningless ritual; these animal sacrifices were significant. Just as our memories form over a lifetime, animals experience a life story as well, and as I see it, these are valuable stories.
Just yesterday, I saw a video of a man coming up to a chimpanzee cage and showing his prosthetic leg. The chimps all but went crazy. This was not something they expected to see, and it literally caused an uproar. In order for that to happen, the chimps had to have had understanding of the implications of what they saw. Animals do not have the tool of symbolic language, but they are not unintelligent.
We’ve seen videos of animals helping one another, caring for the young, even of another species, and rushing to defend another animal that is attacked. This takes consciousness of some complex concepts. Animals are a gift from God, and a very precious one, at that.
That is amazing- the chimps. Thanks for sharing.
It sure amazed me.
