Mutual Admiration Society: Cats & Dogs

Dog won’t let you pet the cat. Can’t won’t let you pet the dog. And the dog certainly will not allow his cat to get into a scuffle with that feline riff-raff across the street.

Where did we ever get the idea that cats and dogs hate each other?

  1. I don’t know that they hate each other, but they are sometimes jealous of each other, thinking the other guy is getting better food, more attention, all that stuff.

  2. What I found interesting was that there was a sense of tribal identity. That retriever knew that black and white cat belonged to the same tribe as the dog, and the dog protected it from the other cat. Another example of instinctive wisdom from the Creator.
