The gator in this story was a lot bigger than this one.
Is God trying to tell us something?
The other day in North Carolina, a 12-foot-long alligator strolled onto the highway and started “lunging at passing cars” (https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/4248086/posts). Luckily for all concerned, the gator didn’t catch any cars.
Boiling Springs Lake Fire Rescue was summoned to the scene. Attempts to walk the gator back into a nearby swamp having failed, they tried spraying the gator with water. That worked. Eventually the animal abandoned his claim to right-of-way and returned to his natural habitat.
North Carolina is just about the limit of the alligator’s range, and one wonders how often gators of such immense size stray onto the road. Happily, no one was injured in this incident, including the gator.
Maybe some serious thought ought to be given to this.
P.S.–Actually, I’ve found a lot of photos of alligators crossing or camping out on the highway. I didn’t know they do that.
