Even a gecko can get more out of a smart phone than I can.
So we couldn’t get Whole Foods discounts because we didn’t have a cell phone. It was an eye-opener for the folks at Whole Foods headquarters. They never imagined half their customers would choose not to have a mobile phone.
The thing that bugs me about technology is, you wind up depending on it, now it’s part of your life, major hoo-hah if it breaks down (as it so often does!) and suddenly you don’t have it.
This blog wouldn’t be possible without it. Which to me is a sobering thought.
Its not a part of my life. I have never had a cell phone. I use my wife’s to call my children in the US. It never leaves my desk.
It’s a real problem. I have to have a mobile phone to do my job, and to function. Mobile devices are used for multi-factor authentication, which is an important security tool, but mobile telephony, which was a luxury 40 years ago, has become a necessity for many people. I work in tech, but I’m skeptical of how fast it has been adopted into all levels of life.
We don’t do things slowly. Just dive right in, head-first! What can possibly go wrong?
My son bought and is paying for my cell phone so I can get in touch with him for an emergency. About the only thing I like about it is I don’t answer it if I don’t have the number on my contacts. If it’s important they can leave me a voicemail. I don’t have to deal with robocalls or salesman
I have a Trac phone that cost me $12.00, and I pay $10.00 a month for its continued use. It does everything a $1200 smart phone does, so take that Google & Apple.
