Oh, Holy Cow!

Cuckoo Clock GIFs | Tenor

There are people in government who shouldn’t be there. They are a menace to the country.

Take, for instance, Rep. James Clyburn (Democrat [of course]-South Carolina), who recently said, in public, on TV, that SloJo Biden was “one of the greatest presidents we ever had” (https://www.breitbart.com/clips/2025/01/16/clyburn-biden-will-go-down-as-one-of-the-greatest-presidents-we-ever-had/). And the late Jimmy Carter, he added was another one of the all-time greats.

(Cuckoo! Cuckoo!)

Is this guy off his rocker, or what? How do we wind up with such dindles governing us??? Spending our money. Telling us what to do. And themselves as crazy as March hares.

Honest, it’s dangerous to have delusional persons calling the shots. (“The ghost of Jimmy Carter told me to surrender…”). (“F.D.R. tucks me in at night…”).

With the possible exception of Barack Obama, SloJo Biden did more to damage the country than any other public figure in my lifetime. God knows we have had our share of bad presidents. Somehow we’ve survived them all.

But if the Lord runs out of patience with us, we’re cooked.

  1. At the end of the day, it reduces to accepting reality, for what it is. I wish there was a shortcut which would provide everyone with health, prosperity and all the good things of life, but the reality is far different. Everything in life, from the food I’ll eat today, to my home, my vehicle, and the daily necessities came because of a lot of effort, on the part of many people. Adam was told, after his sin, that he would eat bread in the sweat of his brow, and we all live under this curse, to this day.

For many years, various leaders have promised that they have the answer to making life easier, but good intentions can’t overcome reality. The US has its share of problems, but it’s still the best deal going, by a long shot. Leaders claiming to have the answers always seem to think that the “answer” is in destroying what already exists. The plan usually falls apart before anything is ever brought in to replace what was destroyed. When the plans fail, it’s always blamed on external factors, and the politicians involved deny responsibility for any failures.

    1. They don’t know they’re idiots. That’s the scariest thing about them. It might be argued that after all, we survived Biden’s presidency. But that remains to be seen.

  2. I remember, year and years ago, saying to my first husband that “mere humans do not have the wisdom and common sense to govern themselves”, but he said, “oh, but we have laws for that”. Yeah, I saw some of their “law books”, a foot thick, filled with useless drivel and a rule for everything imaginable, and the ability to “rule” with anything meaningful and helpful to anyone was completely missing. Worse now, by far.

    1. We’ve been trying for thousands of years to learn self-government. We haven’t got there yet. But I would say the Constitution is a big improvement over a king or a Caesar.
