Social Security Payments… to 360-Year-Old?

A man in a suit stands, yells and points a cane. His mostly seated colleagues look at him.

Really cheesed off, aren’t they?

Democrats are screaming bloody murder over President Trump’s claim that 4.7 million people aged 100 to 109–and one who seems to be 360 years old–are receiving Social Security payments (https://lailluminator.com/2025/03/05/repub/trump-social-security/).

The point, of course, was that Social Security record-keeping is not as tidy as it should be. And the Democrats’ point, as usual, is that the Republican president has it in for old people and wants to cut their benefits. But then Democrats never tell the truth if they can help it.

Some 73 million Americans, including my wife and me, will get Social Security payments this year. I find no reason to believe that Donald Trump is gunning for us. But if you really do trust Democrats to manage America’s finances… well, oh, boy!

  1. Some of the accounts may not draw actual payments, but the active Social Security numbers can be used by other people (including illegals and party hacks) to apply for other government handouts — and voter registrations.

  2. We have heard for years that the Soc Sec was going broke– wonder of wonders, if this
nonsense has been going on. Wow! such –well, whatever.

  3. It’s very messy, that’s for certain. Mr. Trump has stated that he has no intention to cut Social Security benefits, so I can’t help but think that the Dems are flinging mud and hoping that some of it sticks. If anyone is collecting benefits for someone deceased, that needs to stop.

    1. For as long as I’ve been alive, Democrats have accused Republicans of plotting to do away with Social Security. I’ve learned not to believe them.
