Australian academics have pleaded with their government to “prevent any further grant cuts.” Well, how are they expected to do that?
More to the point, what was America doing, funding Australian universities, in the first place? I think President Trump probably couldn’t get a sensible answer to that question. I doubt there is one.
How about Australia giving us some grants? For that matter, how about the EU funding our military?
They are awful free with the taxpayers’ dollars, aren’t they?
Yeah, sure, Albenese will call Trump and make him stop. Why would the US be funding universities in Australia? I could see it if there was sort of joint defense research project, but even in this case it sounds as if there are security problems. If there is classified materials involved, I’m not certain that college students are the best choices for entrusting such information.
Income tax is my single greatest expense. I’m happy to pay my fair share, but I’d like to think that my tax dollars aren’t being dumped into a black hole, or worse, going to fund research projects which may well be leaking critical information to hostile governments. Mr. Albanese is welcome give me a call if he wants an explanation.

Why hasn’t USAID revelations sent Progressive politicians and bureaucrats to prison? The Federal gov’t’s money is our money entrusted to them to do what we the people want as manifested in election results.
