I’m Back (He Said)

Well, here I am at home, at my computer. It’s good to be back.

My heartfelt thanks to all of you who phoned me at the hospital. It meant a great deal to me.

Bob Knight asked me what I’d had done so far, so I told him: chemotherapy, rectal cancer, colon cancer, shaving the prostate gland–

At which point he said, “And you’re still here? Wow.”

And I still have hip replacement surgery to go.

Side effect: I’ve forgotten some of how to use the computer, and I’m in no state to start another novel. I’ll have to come back slowly, bit by bit. I do feel like a castaway washed up on a desert island. But I think I’ll be able to write a “Joe Collidge” tomorrow. [“What? You went through all the pain and agita for that???”]

Let’s see if I can post a hymn.

  1. Thanks be to God! We’ve missed you so much! And everyone I know who’s been praying for you will be so happy to hear the news.

  2. Welcome home, Lee! Take it easy for a while, have a cigar, and watch a scary movie. I wonder if Joe Collige went to Minnesota this week to pay his respects to George Floyd who died of an overdose. I have a hymn request: “All Creatures of Our God and King”.

  3. So glad to hear you are home! Wonderful news!

Also glad I actually started getting notifications again. No idea why I stopped getting them in the first place…

  4. It’s a blessing to have a home to return to. It’s good you are back. We have been praying for this.
