I really love this old-fashioned hymn, Down in the River to Pray. Sung here by Alison Krauss–with simplicity that touches my heart.

  1. So sad how many believers will reach a place of despair and then decide to pray about it, when prayer should always come first. Prayer in the Holy Spirit is powerful, even those prayers that are beyond words and expressed through the groaning of the soul.
