The last time Europe tried to tell us what to do…
The United States seems to be the odd man out in a growing global campaign to stifle free speech and impose censorship wherever the sun shines.
“Overt government control of the Internet” is the only thing that’ll save our civilization [excuse me, where are the barf bags?], with the European Union, Australia, and Canada lined up to silence anyone who might have Wrong Ideas.
Canada is trying to revive Justin Trudeau’s “Online Harms Act”–again, an overt campaign to shut people up and shut people down. Content that diverges from the current government theme song is condemned as “disinformation.” We used to call that “lying.”
And only a week ago it was the Fourth of July…
Well? Are we going to live up to our country’s founders, and its guiding principles, or let a bunch of pipsqueak globalists tell us what to do?
Meanwhile, pray.
I was kicked off of Twitter, but when it became “X” I was let back on. I pray that becomes the pattern under the Trump Administration with FB, Google, Tic-Toc, etc. Some social media sites say right up front what is allowed and what isn’t – I like that. My private FB webpage for our high school’s class of ’66 is set up like that. I control what is allowed according to the rules we have set.
Who are you?
Canada has fallen. We had one dictator replaced with another that’s even worse. At this point, I truly believe our only hope is for the Western provinces to separate, though it would have to start with AB and SK. BC had a corrupt NDP premier installed. Not sure of MB had any need to install an NDP premier again. That province has lurched between the NDP (basically, communists) and the “Progressive” Conservatives for so long, there’s little difference between them anymore.
“Progressive conservatives”? Is that a joke?
