This weather is incredible. It will be going down to around zero tonight, with wind gusts that will be high. Again.
It has been very cold and windy all day, albeit sunny and clear. Sort of like pictures I have seen of Antarctica.
Mid week, it is supposed to warm up (laughs hysterically) to around freezing.
I think I will eat supper early, as usual, and go to bed early while listening to some scary stories on YouTube.
Have a good night, all.
Stay warm.
God bless everybody.

Yow! That is definitely cold. It was uncharacteristically cloudy today. I got a good ride in, earlier, but there was enough wind to at least be annoying. Fortunately, it’s supposed to be much better for at least the next 8 days, starting tomorrow.
It is supposed to get better in a few days.
I would hope so. There are predictions of rain in Arizona, but I’m not seeing it in the Tucson forecast. It could rain at night, but I want to see the sun during the day.
I understand that.
It’s the reason a lot of people live here.
I don’t understand why so many people live in New Jersey
The farthest east I’ve ever been was a flying drive through DC, trying to outrun a snowstorm. Growing up in the relatively unpopulated parts of the US, I’ve never been able to imagine living back east. No put-down intended, but to me, wide open spaces are irresistible.
Yes, indeed. This is a very crowded part of the country.
I’ve lived in a couple of large metro areas, but nothing the likes of the megalopolis on the east coast. I had planned to visit Manhattan once, but the weather changed my plans. I did drive through Chicago, and that was more than enough. Phoenix is relatively large and LA gives me nightmares, at this point. I used to visit LA every few years, but haven’t been there in years, at this point, nor do I plan to return. For that matter, just traversing Tucson does not number among my favorite things; I tend to stick to the periphery during my visits, whenever possible.
I spent my earliest years on the outskirts of a small midwestern city, no trace of which was visible from my parent’s home, and I prefer such a setting, to this day.
I have completely given up driving through any even mildly urban areas.
Pretty much the same here. I can avoid the worst of it in Tucson, but fpr the most part, I try to stay on the outskirts.
It is calmer and safer.
I had the misfortune to drive near the Tucson Mall, circa last Christmas. I saw driving feats which could have been grounds for involuntary commitment. 🙂
Crazy driving scares the crap out of me. There’s a great deal of it in the busier parts of New Jersey.
The traffic engineering in Tucson is among the worst I’ve ever seen, and that doesn’t help.
I would expect better from a place as big as Tucson.
Tucson had a lot of anti-growth people in civic leadership, for many years. Of course, the growth happened with or without their blessing, and the lack of planning left the infrastructure unprepared.
There is a major north/south road on the east side of Tucson, named Houghton Road. It’s a major artery, and six lanes wide in many places, except for a couple of miles in the middle, where it narrows to two lanes. They are working on it, but widening the right of way involves moving some utilities, etc. and while this was obvious the first time I saw it, back in the ‘80s, they just remained in denial, so there are nearly perpetual traffic jams there. Work to widen the right of way is going painfully slow, and no one seems to care.
When it comes to roads and infrastructure, Tucson has a lot of room for improvement. I have my shortcuts and back-road workarounds, but it’s frustrating, to say the least.
It must be difficult. I avoid highway driving here in NJ because of the kamikaze-type drivers.
We have those too.
They are all over the place.
