This Day Got Away From Me

First, the good news.

I woke up this morning completely pain free in my right hand.  It was like there never had been a problem.  Glad to dodge that bullet, because tendonitis can last for weeks and yesterday it was really bad.

However, and maybe many of you have experienced the same thing, even if you only are stopping at the local convenience store for one item, it will somehow eat up more than an hour of your time.  I did take the car for a short spin (it needs exercise, too) but it just seemed to take up much  more time than I expected.

I had planned to do a couple of specific things today — like trimming my hellebore, for instance.  That never got done.  I wanted to take advantage of today because it was nice and sunny (although extremely windy) and we are heading into a couple of days of rain.  Again.

No word on the katana yet.  I know, it has only been a couple of days.  Just eager to get that off the list.

Well, the best-laid plans of mice and men, etc.

At least my hand doesn’t hurt.

Pray for our troops.

God bless everybody.

  1. Having pain leave the body is always a great thing. I overdid it recently lifting heavy loads and now my back screams at me all day long. Such is life.

  2. It’s funny how things happen. I know that some days are that way; bog plans, but less than complete execution. One thing I have started doing is limiting how often I check my email. There are so many messages coming from so many directions, that I can’t keep from becoming sidetracked. So I limit how often I check and go about my business.

Your weather looks mostly good, excepting a couple of days when it’s supposed to rain. After a cooler, wetter and longer winter than normal, we are expecting temps near 100 F by mid week.

There is a (since retired) weatherman named Jimmy Stewart, who used to be on Tucson’s NBC affiliate TV station who would talk, tongue in cheek, about the ice finally breaking on “Lake Tucson” the first 100 degree day of the year. There is no lake Tucson, or if there is, there is no water in it, but even if there was, ice is a rarity in these parts, and unlikely to last more than a few hours. So, for anyone else in the Tucson area, you’d better get your ice skating out of the way pretty soon. 🙂

    1. The problem with our information age os that there is no down time and no consideration that the recipient may have other matters to attend to. One company, who handles some financial matters for me sends me emails which are marked “action required”. Pardon? They work for me, and not the other way around. It also galls me that companies will send emails outside of local business hours and on weekends. Sorry guys, but no dice.
