Jaguars Keep Being Spotted . . .

This is very interesting.  It would seem there are more animals out there than one would think.

  1. I watched this with great interest. It appears that the textbook information regarding North American jaguars is woefully inadequate. If jaguars were that far east in the US, possibly as late as the 18th century, what else do they have wrong regarding these magnificent animals. When I was a schoolboy, we were emphatically taught that there were no linger any jaguars roaming even the southern tier of the US, but they seem to have come back, and there have been steady sightings in my area for at least the last 25 years. I, for one, welcome them, but I do keep a broom on the front porch. 🙂

    1. Reports of “black panthers” are persistent. In some cases, these may be other animals, but there is the possibility that there could be melanistic Jaguars in unexpected places.

    2. Exactly. You can be 20 feet from a Mountain Lion and never know it was there. I suspect that Jaguars aren’t all that different.
