My mother would’ve plotzed if she ever saw any of her babies cuddling with a cat–but gee whiz! Obviously (in this video, at least) the baby is delighted by the cat. And the cat likes the baby, although he’s distracted by the camera. Clearly the cat makes the baby happy. And what’s wrong with that?
Pardon the headline; it’s an experiment.
Humans are the dominant species on the planet–right? But you won’t get any self-respecting cat to admit it.
My cat Buster used to come and lie on top of my hand while I was writing. His sister, Missy, flopped herself on top of the cards if I was playing solitaire. Like, why was I doing any of those stupid things when I should’ve been petting a cat?
(Please don’t hold the click-bait against me. It’s part of a secret experiment that may hold the key to something.)
My cats have always enjoyed pipe cleaners, paper bags, and those little jingly balls. Anything more elaborate usually ends up getting ignored.
The cats in these videos are not so blase. Really, though, the cat who runs away from the little toy mouse–for shame.
When our cats were kittens, and first learned how to run sideways with puffy tails, they would do it at the drop of a hat, couldn’t get enough of it. Alas, they’ve long since grown out of that, and won’t do it anymore.
So if I want to see this, I have to resort to cat videos. Like this one.
We all want our cats to be happy, right? Well, here are some ways of doing it. Spinning them around on the computer chair–yeah, I’ve had cats who enjoyed that. But holding Robbie under the faucet–no way. I don’t want my forearms turned into cole slaw.
I don’t know, I just had a yen for some cats in boxes.
Why do cats want to squeeze themselves into boxes that are obviously very much too small for them? Somebody out there must know.
This cat laughs at gravity. Look at him go! If the house was bigger, he’d jump even higher.
That being said, a don’t recommend allowing him to jump into the microwave.
I haven’t yet looked at any nooze today. Maybe that’s why I feel good. Don’t worry, I’ll look later.
Meanwhile, this little video crossed my eye. Look at the fun they’re having–a cat and a baby. I don’t know that I’d allow it, in case either one of them gets over-zealous; but at least in this video all’s well in the kingdom.
Sometimes you’d swear cats have no feeling in their tails; but that’s demonstrably untrue, although I don’t recommend demonstrating it.
How long will the mother cat put up with the kitten’s assaults on her tail? Stay tuned and see.
When a cat has the floor, instead of giving stupid speeches proposing stupid public policies that’ll cost a lot and do harm to the country, the cat has a better idea–use it for sliding. Look at the fun they have with slippery floors.
Our lives might not be better if we did the same, but they’d surely be more fun.
