Special Treat, ‘The Christmas Tree’

I can’t help feeling I didn’t do right by Christmas this past year. Didn’t put lights on our little tree, didn’t decorate the wreath–just sort of went through the motions. We were still pretty down about losing Peep… and I was tired, don’t know why.

So I’ve prayed a special prayer, asking the Lord to help me keep Christmas throughout the year and to appreciate it with all my heart, when Christmas comes around again.

Here’s a sweet and harmless Christmas carol–The Christmas Tree, by David Rose. A Christmas tune in February–well, why not?

David Rose, ‘The Christmas Tree’

This harmless little melody from 1959, The Christmas Tree by David Rose and his orchestra, is one of many we like to play while we’re setting up our Christmas tree; and I wanted to share it with you before the tree comes down. It has the advantage of not having any lyrics that I’ve ever heard, so as not to mislead as to the meaning of the day.

A little happiness never hurt anybody. I was ten years old in 1959, and it remains one of my very favorite years.
