‘Christ the Lord Is Risen Today’

I reckoned I would need something wholesome after reporting on government waste taken to a whole new level of irresponsible wickedness, and it’d be hard to find something more curative than this–Christ the Lord Is Risen Today, by Charles Wesley, sung by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band.

Lord, you can’t possibly come back to us too early!

‘How Firm a Foundation’

Well, I was waiting for some hymn requests to come along, but they haven’t; so I’ll just post one of my favorites.

How Firm a Foundation, sung the old-fashioned way by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band: another one of my harmonica hymns.

‘O, Worship the King’

It’s been a while since I posted this hymn–O Worship the King, sung the old-fashioned way by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band. This was one of the first hymns I learned by play on my harmonica.

John Bunyan’s Hymn (Plus Update on Me)

(Trying to pump up my courage…)

One of my favorite hymns: Who Would True Valor See, also known as He Who Would Valiant Be: written by John Bunyan (Pilgrim’s Progress) and performed here by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band–

UPDATE–We’re back from Dr. Swan’s, he gave me clearance (what does that mean?) for next week’s “procedure.” And then the next, and the next one after that… and I’d better calm down, I’m scaring myself.

I think I’d better have a cigar.

‘Light of the World’

Sorry I’m so late! I was trying to catch up on lost sleep.

Here’s one of my favorite hymns to start the day: Light of the World by Charles Wesley, performed by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band.

‘How Firm a Foundation’

This was the first hymn that came into my head this morning: How Firm a Foundation, by Charles Wesley, sung by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band. God knows how we need that foundation!

‘O Worship the King’

I’ve overslept, I have to go to physical therapy, and there’s just time to post one him–the first one that came into my head, O Worship the King, sung the old-fashioned way by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band.

Please bear with me, my schedule’s all fakaka.

‘Light of the World’

This hymn has made me cry today. I hope the Lord accepts that as an offering.

Light of the World, by Charles Wesley; sung by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band.

I need some light.

‘How Firm a Foundation’

No hymn requests have come in, and I have to rush off to physical therapy this morning–so here’s the hymn, first one to pop into my head: How Firm a Foundation, sung the old-fashioned way by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band.

‘O Worship the King’

I feel like I want to just sit here and cry, let my work go undone; but I’ll try not to do that.

O Worship the King, sung here by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band–this was the first hymn I learned to play on the harmonica.
