So far, it looks like I’ll have to wait till mid-August for my hip replacement… if that’s when I can actually have it done. Meanwhile, everything hurts.

Oh, fap! You’re asking me? I feel like I’m a ghost haunting this apartment. Sleep? What’s that? Where do you get it? And what kind of shape will I be in by the time they get around to my hip?

What a storm we had last night! For 47 years I’ve been slamming our back door shut against the wind and rain. Last night, for the only time in history, it went perfectly into the door frame and then wouldn’t come out. Happily, our neighbor Josh took care of it this morning.
Meanwhile, we have decided to get me a hip replacement before we do anything else. My wife and my sister (nursing student, Advanced Practice Nurse) have the credentials and I’d be a fool not to take their advice. I’m not looking forward to any more time in the hospital–but again, I trust Patty and Alice to steer me right.
At least the murderous heat got washed away last night. A nice day for reading a book and smoking a cigar.
