Requested by Erlene–Onward, Christian Soldiers, sung by the Sanctuary Choir at the First Methodist Church, Houston.
Libs hate this hymn! They don’t want to hear that we’re at war. But war it is, and here’s what St. Paul had to say about it (Ephesians 6: 10-17).
Our warfare is ultimately not against flesh and blood, but forces of spiritual evil.
We wear as armor the truth, and righteousness, and the gospel of peace.
Our helmet is salvation, and our weapon is the sword of the spirit which is the word of God.
With the shield of faith we extinguish the fiery darts of the wicked.
And we pray unceasingly.
This war is fought out in this fallen world every day and every night; and “go along to get along” is not the way to win it.
