Wow, the 50 Shades of Grey S&M movie really kicked butt this weekend, and supposedly 100 million copies of this inane venture into pornography have been sold.
That means it’s time for knock-offs.
This morning the shelves at my local supermarket were lined with the first three books or so of This Man, a series of novels by Jodi Ellen Malpas. Yup–another blockbuster “novel,” written by a woman, about a woman getting a real charge out of being abused and humiliated. Another New York Times best-seller!

I keep telling you that if you can’t conserve the culture, you can’t conserve anything. But it’s always easy to appeal to the sin part of our nature, and when dreck like this comes out, people lap it up.
