A Millenial Want Ad

Here is a classified ad taken from today’s Stunata Falls Gazette:

“WORK WANTED: New college grad, 29, BA in Diversity Studies, seeks high-paying no-show job with top firm. Willing to work an hour or two a day on special occasions. Full benefits and early retirement, with lavish pension, a must. Snap me up before someone else does!”

A question I was asking myself today:

Why is “diversity” such a good thing, that must be actively pursued as an end in itself? In fact, given the nature of living things, is it ever possible not to have diversity?

Why do the smartest people in the world talk such claptrap all the time?

  1. There should be included within this ad, the requirement of a ‘safe zone’ in case all that diversity becomes unsafe!

  2. “Education should aim at destroying free will so that after pupils are thus schooled they will be incapable throughout the rest of their lives of thinking or acting otherwise than as their school masters would have wished … The social psychologist of the future will have a number of classes of school children on whom they will try different methods of producing an unshakable conviction that snow is black. When the technique has been perfected, every government that has been in charge of education for more than one generation will be able to control its subjects securely without the need of armies or policemen.” —–Bertrand Russell quoting Johann Gottlieb Fichte, the head of philosophy & psychology who influenced Hegel and others – Prussian University in Berlin, 1810

  3. Just what is “Political Correctness?” Political Correctness is in fact cultural Marxism – Marxism translated from economic into cultural terms. The effort to translate Marxism from economics into culture did not begin with the student rebellion of the 1960s. It goes back at least to the 1920s and the writings of the Italian Communist Antonio Gramsci. In 1923, in Germany, a group of Marxists founded an institute devoted to making the transition, the Institute of Social Research (later known as the Frankfurt School). One of its founders, George Lukacs, stated its purpose as answering the question, “Who shall save us from Western Civilization?” The Frankfurt School gained profound influence in American universities after many of its leading lights fled to the United States in the 1930s to escape National Socialism in Germany.

    1. The most famous–I mean infamous–American graduate of the Frankfort School was former Columbia U. gauleiter Herbert Marcuse.

    1. The have bupkis. Their platform is hating a highly successful president with growing approval ratings. They can offer only the politics of failure, and who gives a durn about that, anymore?
