When I was a little boy, this hymn, The Old Rugged Cross, used to make me cry. And it chokes me up pretty good this morning, too. But to pay this tribute to our beloved Savior is nothing.

When we were members of the First Baptist Church in our town this hymn was sung often – a truly great one! It is not in our Lutheran hymnal?
It fills me with awe each time I hear it, and brings tears to the surface always. It was sung and played as a special number at my church last Sunday.
