One of the most beautiful hymns ever written, Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring, by J.S. Bach: performed here by the Edinburgh Singers, complete with oboe solo. I discovered this around Christmastime, but it’s the hymn that called to me today.
For those of you who are new to this blog, we take hymn requests and it’s my pleasure to post any hymn you’d like to hear. So don’t be shy, “Leave a Reply”–and we’ll do the rest.
Beautiful! An inspiring old hymn that we do not get to hear often. I also love the rendition done by Josh Groban.
It makes me pine for my Christmas tree to be up and shining. Christianity has produced the most beautiful music in the world.
I just remembered another marvelous song titled He Looked Beyond My Faults and Saw My Need. John Starnes has a beautiful version.
Coming up tomorrow morning, Erlene.
