Netflix Opts for Blasphemy

Hot on the heels of its “Star-spangled Salute to Abortion,” Netflix has announced plans to develop and air American Jesus–a series about “a 12-year-old boy who suddenly discovers he’s returned as Jesus Christ. He can turn water into wine, make the crippled walk, and, perhaps, even raise the dead” (https://variety.com/2018/tv/news/netflix-american-jesus-jupiters-legacy-mark-millar-1202875133/).

It’s based on a comic book, of course. A sodding comic book.

Uh, dude! Like, there’s no reincarnation in the Bible! Which you’d know, if you’d ever read it. The real Bible, not the comic book.

Trifling with holy things is dangerous. Your immortal soul can get into real trouble. Our souls are already in deep trouble, and we need Jesus Christ Our Lord to get them out. But then if you don’t know you’re drowning, you probably don’t know you need a life preserver.

Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.

Ignorance and arrogance–great combination, Netflix.

Why does simply not having Netflix in my home make me feel like I’ve done at least one thing right?

  1. I have a big issue with what passes as “entertainment” these days. What we watch and how we entertain ourselves tells a lot about our society. In ancient Rome they entertained themselves by watching people kill themselves, and animals eating people. Well, we are’t there yet, but I’m still amazed at what people will accept into their homes if it’s done under the guise of entertainment. And the bar is continuously lowered. What would be considered a PG-13 movie today would have been Rated R a couple of decades ago. This sort of stuff is not healthy for society. As you said Lee, entertainment is a passive form of self-education. So true.

  2. The implications of that article are chilling. Frankly, I’m content to let Christ return without the need to dramatize matters and dumb it down to entertainment.

  3. According to historian Otto Scott, what brought Robespierre down was ridicule. Netflix is using ridicule to bring down faith in Christ. It will only work on the unregenerate. Christ is holy, set apart from man’s world system, and so are His followers. Netflix used to only rent movies other people made, then Leftist took over control and ruined it like they do everything they touch.

    1. That is because most Muslims in the West have been tricked into supporting Leftism by the phony Muslim Brotherhood and its hidden Grand Orient Atheist Freemason masters.
