By Request, ‘Silent Night’

A reader in Japan asks for this German hymn, which I find sung quite beautifully in Irish… Well, that’s what Christmas is about, isn’t it? God’s Temple is to be the house of prayer for all nations. And someday it surely will be.

Requested by Joshua, sung by Enya.

  1. Thank you! According to Dad and Mom, they used to play this (on cassette tape) to make me go to sleep when I was a baby. I don’t remember that! 🙂
P.S. – Enya and the cardinals both have something in common… they’re both red! 🙂

  2. Beautiful! Has anyone requested “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” yet? I’ve been reading Dickens lately and somehow this hymn always makes me think of Ebeneezer Scrooge waking up on Christmas morning!

  3. Mr. Duigon, a few days ago you asked me if I knew of any Japanese versions of Christmas carols. I searched around YouTube for some good ones. I posted one video of people playing Christmas songs on Japanese instruments, but I found another one, “Silent Night” in Japanese. Please enjoy!
