Cardinals in the Snow

Mr. Nature here. Somehow the combination of bright red cardinals, pure white snow, and green pine boughs strikes me as irresistibly Christmasy. I’ll bet I’m not the only one, either.

God’s handiwork is all around us, all the time, sometimes whispering, sometimes singing, sometimes shouting, “God is nigh! God is nigh.”

    1. WordPress has added yet another step to the posting process, so that’s another chance for me to forget to re-enable comments. *sigh* So now I’ve fixed it.

  1. Beautiful. I really miss the cardinals that were plentiful in Missouri where I lived as a child. I never see any here in Idaho. Very seldom see any Blue Jays, either. We have beautiful scenery to enjoy, but it does not include all these beautiful birds. Thanks for the post.

  2. Here is another Christmas song suggestion: A Christmas Alleluia by Chris Tomlin. I haven’t heard it yet, but it sounds encouraging.

  3. I’ve only seen cardinals in person a handful of times, but the beauty of these birds is impossible to forget. I’m sure Joe Collidge could come up with some fanciful tale of why they evolved that way, but I think it’s more accurate to state the simple truth; our God is an artist.
