Apparently hamsters like sliding. I wonder how it compares to running so fast inside an exercise wheel that first your legs and then the rest of you turns into a blur.
The famed Egyptologist Howard Carter, who discovered and opened Tutankhamen’s tomb, has nothing to say about sliding hamsters.
You can’t convince me that hamsters don’t have fun. They seem to be pretty skilled at enjoying themselves.
They’re much more playful than mice.
And can be charming little creatures. I remember having one that found its way into a potted plant and dug a tunnel to the bottom of the flower pot almost instantly.
And I think they’re better-tempered now than they were when I was a little boy.
They’re evolving in that direction. 🙂
There’s been a lot of selective breeding going on since the 1950s.
The hamsters I had in the ‘80s and ‘90s were very friendly and clever.
The ones I had in the 60s, about half of them were rather grumpy. But that seems to be in the past.
They are having a lot of fun.
