They’ll deny it–but what if we did all those things they say we should do?
None of those things they recommend as being good for us is good for us. Leftism is a religion that worships death. Abortion, assisted suicide, homosexuality, transgenderism–what? You mean they’re not the tourist traps along the devil’s freeway?
I was a leftist once, and now I keep trying to remember why I thought all those things (except transgenderism, which we’d never even heard of then) were good. I’m inclined now to think that all leftists are eugenicists at heart, really wanting to thin the herd so that only the enlightened, i.e., people like us, will remain and there will be abundance and plenty for all the remaining chosen ones in the coming utopia. We never considered who exactly would be producing all that plenty, or maintaining it, or clearing away the (ahem) waste with which our enlightened fingers couldn’t be expected to sully themselves. And of course we never considered that we might be part of the herd to be thinned.
All utopian plans have come to bad ends, from the smallest communes to the grandest-scale collectivist tyrannies. Either they break down and dissipate, or they consume the dissenters, then consume each other, and finally consume themselves. See Psalm 37:10 – “A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.”
I believed a lot of those things, too. Here are my excuses. 1) I was in college, and college makes you stupid. 2) I was very young and didn’t know any better. 3) I was something of an idiot, too. The three factors work together to produce a crop of useful idiots for the Democrat Party.

Such thinking is really a reflection of their spiritual condition. They don’t believe in God, but they can still recognize things are not right with humanity and this world. They reject the Biblical explanation of the fall of man, so they invent new original sins and new methods of redemption apart from Christ. If this is all there is then they believe it’s up to them to try to fix it and perfect mankind. Of course it never works out that way. Every attempt at utopia always ends up looking more like hell than heaven.
They keep hoping that people who are neither wise nor virtuous will create a wise and virtuous society.
Leftist will tell you they don’t believe in Satan or the supernatural, yet they are doing everything he would do.
